Early on, the Auto Assault TCG designers had a case of "minefields" on the brain. Without having consulted one another, they concocted three separate card ideas that each used the concept of portraying a "minefield" in their placeholder titles. Each idea was distinct enough that they all made it into the final set. Once matched up to more appropriate subject matter within the world of Auto Assault, those cards became Canyon Run Race, Desperate Assault, and Chemical Valley Patrol.
