Although there were alternate versions of the Auto Assault TCG conceived and tested before the one you can now play, Taurus BSR was quite possibly the very first card ever designed for what became the final version of the game. When the first two basic decks were created (on paper!) to test out these rules, they matched a Biomek vehicle (with an ability that was ultimately not included in Ignition) against a Human vehicle whose only major difference from Taurus BSR was that it swerved to repair rather than paid power.

Due to popular demand, all this week's constructed events have been changed to Sealed Deck. You can bring any starter you want, three boosters, and five Event Passes.

These tournaments run the same as our launch tournaments with a few key differences: You must pick up a starter of your choice and 3 boosters from the Auto Assault TCG Store ahead of time, and the entry fee is five event passes rather than 16.

Though a card with the name Zero In has been part of the Ignition set virtually from day one of design, it was not always the card the carries that title today. At one point, the card now called Attack Vector carried the name, while the current Zero In was known as Surprise Attack. The names were changed around when one of the designers noted that an attack you could see coming from at least one turn away was hardly a "surprise."

Combat is a gift from the gods. Without combat, we might as well be playing Go Fish (another game driven by pure strategy – never ask for eights, it’s a statistical nightmare). After all, we’re not playing this game with peace in mind – we’re playing because we want to smash our opponents’ faces in.

The Pikes are a faction of religious zealots who worship their "god in the stones," Hamalzah. In the Auto Assault TCG, their fanaticism is taken to the extreme – the Pikes see death as only one more way they can serve their god’s will. Many Pike units actually give benefits when they’re killed, giving you all the fun of beating up your opponent when they’re alive, plus an added bonus upon death. The Sprayer is a particularly powerful example of this, as one of the few cards in the game that can affect stashed maneuvers. With it, you can "catch up" on a mission your opponent started working on before you.

Assaulting is one of the most important, fulfilling things you can do in life. Sure, you could douse the flames of a burning orphanage or save an infant that’s been trapped in a well, but do these accomplishments give the same kind of satisfaction you’d receive from running a post-apocalyptic war machine over a group of enemy infantrymen?
