Worlds Apart Productions to Develop TCG Based On NCSoft's Auto Assault

Online trading card game developer acquires TCG license for highly anticipated MMO.

DENVER, Colo., October 14, 2005 – Worlds Apart Productions, LLC announced that it has acquired digital and physical trading card game (TCG) rights for NCsoft® North America’s highly anticipated massively multiplayer online game (MMO), Auto Assault™.

Auto Assault is a fast-paced role-playing game featuring vehicular combat and destructible environments set in a post-apocalyptic Earth. It is being developed by Colorado-based developer NetDevil, and published by industry leader NCsoft Corporation (publisher of Lineage®, Lineage® II, Guild Wars® and City of Heroes®). The game has already received numerous awards and high praise at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, including "Best Massively Multiplayer Game" from Yahoo! Games, "Best Gameplay" from Stratics.com, "Editor’s Choice" from TenTonHammer, and a "Best Online Multiplayer Game" nomination by the Game Critics Awards group.

"Auto Assault flat out rocks!” says Worlds Apart President Scott Martins. “We’re having a blast in development, and couldn’t be more excited to bring the proud tradition of big guns on tricked out cars back to strategy gaming.” Martins adds, "We’re looking forward to some great synergy between the Auto Assault MMO and the TCG. We think players are going to love the cool cross product rewards we have planned for both the TCG and MMO."

Design of the Auto Assault Online TCG is being guided by Paul Dennen, responsible for the critically acclaimed online game Star Chamber, and Evan Lorentz, a veteran TCG designer with credits that include Star Trek CCG 2nd Edition and the award-winning The Lord of the Rings TCG. Look for the launch of the first set of the Auto Assault Online Trading Card Game this spring.

"Worlds Apart has a real passion and vision for the future of trading card games and their increasingly digital presence," said NetDevil President Scott Brown. "They’ve got a great track record and we think Auto Assault fans are going to enjoy having more ways to blow stuff up when the Auto Assault Online Trading Card Game is launched."
